Operation and equipment
A meteorological radio is used which is capable of receiving the signal emitted by the Mexican Seismic Warning System (SASMEX), which is a signal that is transmitted openly, as long as you have this radio. This signal is transmitted on 7 different channels, in which the channel is selected on the radio according to the area in which the equipment will be installed, leading to the next point.
The seismic alert is only transmitted in highly seismic areas of the country such as: Mexico City, Puebla, Acapulco, Chilpancingo, Morelia, Oaxaca, Toluca and Morelos.
