Featured Features:
- Made of stainless steel .
- Recommended for 3/16" retaining ( SRET474CAM or SRET316DA )
- Recommended use per tie: 3 pieces
- Ideal for heavy load
- Recommended for suspension or fixation of cable-stayed towers, masts, poles and the like.
Safety Notes:
Use the same size staple for the same size wire rope.
Never use malleable iron staples in critical applications, heavy duty, or for suspended loads, like slings, suspension lines, guide lines, drag lines, load fixing, scaffolding, etc
Malleable iron staples are for making terminations:
- Only for light duty and non-critical applications such as light loads, pass-hands, lattices, area protections, etc
- Apply a first load to check the assembly. This load must be equal to or greater than the weight it will support. Then check and retighten the nuts to the recommended torque.
Method for installing the Dogs:
1. Run the cable the necessary length around the thimble. and install the first dog at a distance equal to the width of its base from the extreme tip of the cable. Tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque.
2. When only two dogs are necessary, install the second as close as possible to the bend of the cable or thimble, and tighten the nuts alternately to the specified torque. When more than two dogs are required, Install the second dog as close to the bend of the cable or thimble as possible and turn the nuts firmly without tightening.
3. Install all the dogs that are necessary between the first two with equal spaces between them, and located in the same position. Make sure the nuts on all dogs are tightened to the specified torque.
4. Finally, Apply a load equal to or greater than that you expect to use to test the assembly. Check right away, and if necessary, retighten the nuts according to the recommended torque with the help of a torque wrench.
