SAFE Linear Temperature Detection - Linear Heat Detection (LHD)

Uses advanced polymers and a newly developed alloy to provide exceptional detection, durability and design flexibility. At the core of SafeCable is a twisted pair of extremely low resistance tri-metallic conductors, which are lined with new and advanced thermal polymers. These polymers are chemically designed to decompose at specific fixed temperatures, allowing the stranded conductors to make contact and initiate an alarm.

Trays with electrical cables

Trays with electrical cables

A cable tray is an assembly of sections forming a rigid structural system to support cables. These support cables in the same way that bridges support cars and transportation systems. In addition to the straight sections of the tray there are elbows, Tees, crossings and verticals which require a fire detection system that follows the same route as the cables.

Fire detection

Linear Heat Detection (LHD). It is a very effective and low cost solution to protect cable trays. The LHD pigtail can be installed inside the tray with the cables following exactly the same route while being in close proximity to the cables for quick detection.

Electrical Room

Electrical cables lying in the cable tray can be high voltage and can break over time and use. Over time cables can overheat causing fires. Cables in trays that are not properly arranged are more susceptible to catching fire due to access to more oxygen on the surface of the cables.
