Bare Fiber Optic Adapter to perform measurements and tests on fiber strands without connector

Temporarily connect test instruments such as OTDR, Power meter and VFL to the fiber without the need to fuse or connectorize it.
Characteristics:
- Provides a quick method to temporarily connect a fiber under test to a test instrument.
- Measure fiber length on a reel with an OTDR without having to connectorize or fuse the fiber reel
- Measure the optical power present in a fiber without a connector
- Temporarily connect a VFL to a fiber so the technician can inject visible light into a fiber that does not have a connector
- Accepts fiber up to 250 microns
- Connector type: SC/PC
- Compatible with multimode and singlemode fiber
Instructions:
1. Peel the fiber jacket to access the 900 micron coating. Remove 50mm (2" ) of the acrylic coating (250 microns).
2. Clean the fiber with 99% isopropyl alcohol.
3. Cut the fiber to a length of 20 mm.
4. Depress the plunger of the BFA-1 and insert the end of the cut fiber making sure the end of the fiber reaches the ferrule.
5. Release the plunger to secure the fiber.
Grades:
- It is highly recommended to use a SC-SC coupler and a 1 meter fiber jumper/patch cord to connect to the OTDR/Power Meter/VFL
- Do not directly connect the BFA-1 adapter to the measuring instrument
