A Radio,
Multiprotocol Support

The NX-5000 series offers unmatched interoperability for a wide variety of users, since it supports three digital protocols (CAI): NXDN, DMR and P25 (Phase 1 and 2) and even analog technology. Best of all, you can select the digital protocol(s) you need. Mixed mode gives you the freedom to migrate from analog to digital at your own pace. Or if you intend to scan different protocols to keep track of different radio communication systems, it is not an obstacle. An NX-5000 radio can simultaneously support two digital protocols and can be mixed with analog technology.

The 24/7 solution with cutting-edge digital technologies for scalable mission-critical communications.

The NXDN™ protocol perfectly supports operating on real 6.25 kHz channels that use FDMA technology, providing greater coverage compared to analog technology and other digital protocols that operate at 12.5 and 25 kHz. It can operate in conventional and trunking modes. Its new Gen2 development offers greater data processing, great flexibility and also the ability to link up to 1,000 repeat sites.

An efficient and economical option for dynamic companies looking to update their communications.

DMR is a cost-effective solution for simple systems. Thanks to TDMA technology, 2 slots are offered; DMR can get 2 talk paths within the 12.5 kHz bandwidth, effectively doubling the capacity of a single frequency and/or repeater. KENWOOD radios are DMR Tier I compatible, II (conventional) and Tier III (trunking) complying with ETSI standards.

The critical operation protocol established in the USA for first responders with great reliability and interoperability.

Also known as Project 25 or APCO 25. This digital CAI that operates at 12.5 kHz guarantees interoperability between different US public safety agencies. The NX-5000 series is compatible with conventional level operation and trunking (Phase 1 and Phase 2).

Automatic Caller Identification

An NX-5000 series radio automatically identifies a call, whether NXDN, DMR, P25 or analog FM, and answers it in the same way. Configuring the radio in mixed mode allows the radio to wait for a call in both digital and analog modes in a migration environment or supporting different radio fleets. Also, The new Geographic Zone feature allows these radios to operate in any mode, conventional or trunked, in the same area.

Portable radios

Two versions to choose from
Choose between two versions of portable radios: one without a numeric keypad and the other with a numeric keypad (16-key model). Both styles feature the 4-way Directional Pad (D-pad) and 2-position top switch.

Full-color, 1.74 inch color LCD
A 1.74-inch 65,536-color transflective LCD display (240 x 180 pixels) capable of displaying multi-line text and colored icons, can be seen clearly in direct sunlight or in the dark, even with polarized sunglasses.

Mobile Radios

Full-color, 2.55 inch color LCD
The luminance sensor built into a 2.55-inch 65,536-color TFT display (154 x 422 pixels) automatically adjusts the backlight brightness. On the screen, text data is displayed on multiple lines, up to 5 lines.

Remote head
The front panel or head can be removed and used as a remote control. Also, It is possible to create multiple configurations for the requirement of several radii with one head, or two heads with a single spoke.

Robust and Reliable

Military Certifications and Protection Standards
During the development stage, NX-5000 series radios go through several strict tests as shown below. As a result, These devices comply with MIL-STD-810 certification. Also, portable radios meet IP68 immersion standards, while the mobile radios meet IP55 protection standards against the ingress of dust and water.

Key Features

Bluetooth®
Hands-free operation is vital for many users. The Bluetooth ® module is built in, It is compatible with audio accessories and Serial Port Profiles (ver. 3.0 and 4.0 BLE).

GPS
With an integrated GPS module, NX-5000 portable radios can be located, allowing for effective management when using a positioning platform such as the KAS-20. This function is also available with mobile radios using the KRA-40G antenna.

Micro SD
To store voice and data, The memory capacity can be increased up to 32 GB on a microSD card.

Encryption
This series of radios includes 56-bit Data Encryption Standard (DES) encryption. For even greater protection, They also support 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with optional module.

Safety sensors
Detection of fallen man, Stationary detection or motion detection will automatically activate when the built-in acceleration and tilt sensors detect unusual behavior. The lone worker feature automatically places the radio into emergency mode if it is not used for a certain period of time.

The bright orange emergency button is located on the top (laptops) or front (mobiles) of the radio for high visibility and instant access when needed.

Smart Battery Management

The intelligent battery system helps extend battery life and ensures batteries are optimally maintained to be ready for mission-critical operations. The system comprises optional high-capacity Li-Ion and Ni-MH batteries (KNB-L1 / L2 / L3 / N4), the smart charger (KSC-Y32) and the battery reader software (KAS-12 or KAS-12PRO). Up to 60 fast chargers can be daisy chained to a PC installed with KAS-12 software, which can display and manage information: battery type, model, voltage, temperature, discharge cycle, expected useful life and remaining capacity.

Also, with KAS-12PRO, Data can be stored for up to 5,000 batteries for centralized management of their initial use date. days passed, discharge cycle, remaining capacity and deterioration (end of useful life).

It is possible to create a battery management system over IP networks by installing the KAS-12DU option on a server and KAS-12PRO authentication for the system.

Battery conditions are displayed on color illuminated indicators on the charger, these are also displayed on a connected PC with the same color scheme. Color-coordinated patterns provide users with at-a-glance information for comprehensive battery management.

Multiple Configurations

Totally flexible to meet the requirements of the operation
The NX-5700/ 5800/ 5900 mobile radios allow users to create a variety of configurations to meet various requirements by combining different options.

KENWOOD guarantees the safe operation of electronic equipment in explosive atmospheres and irregular operating conditions.

Intrinsically Safe and Non-Flammable certified versions of NX-5000 portable radios are used in potentially explosive environments with the intent of securing industry operations and maintaining radio communication.
